Allotments in Birmingham
Birmingham Parks Department is now responsible for well over 7000 allotments on 115 sites, over 80% of which are managed through allotment associations — see the Birmingham and District Allotment Association for a load of information.
There are also other allotments in the city, the largest of which probably being those run by the Bournville Village Trust.
Here are websites for a few of them and/or blogs written by allotment holders — please let us know of more:
- Billesley Lane Allotments
- Court Lane Allotments in Erdington
- Kings Norton Village Allotments
- Livingstone Road Community Allotment
- Matthew Boulton Allotments in Winson Green
- Moorpool Allotments in Harborne
- Uplands Allotments in Handsworth
- Thornbridge Allotments in Great Barr
- Walsall Road Allotments in Perry Barr

Hi Clare,
We have added you to the list of places in Birmingham
I am one of the volunteers for v inspired and we are currently working on a project ‘Transforming Unloved Community Spaces’
We are looking to turn the roof space of Erdington Fire Station into an Eco garden. We will be approaching it with assembling allotment boxes and various types of plants which the firemen can maintain and keep long term for community benefit. As this is quite a big project we need as much community help as possible!
If you would like to help us by getting involved or by donating or borrowing us any material or tools we would be greatly appreciative!
You can get back to me on carrie_wright@hotmail.co.uk or you can contact my team leader Holly Teal on teamvhollyt@gmail.com
Thank you
Carrie Wright
