Moseley in Bloom

It’s brilliant news that Moseley in Bloom has won a Gold in the Heart of England Awards for the fifth time.

And, to cap it all, we’ve been judged Best Urban Community for the sixth consecutive year.

Moseley in Bloom is a group of volunteers, working to make Moseley Cleaner and Greener. We’re the people who put up the hanging baskets in the streets in summer.

We had our every popular  annual Open Gardens weekend in mid-June. There’s another planned for 29-30 June next year.

We’ve also cleaned up Moseley Car Park; see photo right of the new colourful top bed there.

And, with funding from West Midlands Police, we’ve just launched a major anti-litter campaign.

A big thank you from us to the students at Queensbridge School who’ve designed posters for us. They’re now busy enlisting help from the other schools in Moseley.

All this is part of a vibrant horticultural scene. Birmingham has just won a Gold Award in the RHS Britain in Bloom 2012. It was also Best in the Large City category.
