Birmingham’s ‘Edible Forest’: Event at BCU on 23rd April

Nick Grayson, Climate Change and Sustainability Manager at Birmingham City Council is leading a seminar at Birmingham City University 14:00 to 15:30 on Monday 23rd April at Millennium Point.

Nick has had an ‘evolutionary’ career from a craftsmen gardener, to a Master of Horticulture with the RHS, and won travel bursaries for a study tour of Japan.

He then trained as a Landscape Architect and helped deliver the Urban Development Zones before leading the city’s Nature Conservation Strategy and becoming the city’s Nature Conservation Officer.

No surprise then that Nick is interested in the issue of food security, and how the City’s planning approaches, such as the Big City Plan, can encourage urban agriculture and related sustainability activities.
